As you have already read, the Fugawi was a huge success and everything else is running smoothly for the Men’s Club here at CCCC. Congratulations to Dom Lingua and Jonathan Minkoff, the 2007 Fugawi Champions!!! The Fugawi was a very tightly contested event with four team’s only four points apart.  Dom and Jon won with a final score of 114.  Mike McCarthy and Rod Brady were the Gross Champions with a score of 127.  In the Comanche Flight, first place was presented to James and Camen Italia with a score of 115 Second place went to Gary Talbert and John Smallenburg with a score of 120.  And third place went to Steve Blancarte and Bob Merette with a score of 122. In the Apache Flight, first place was captured by Jim McInerney and Randy Winker with a score of 116.  Second place went to Bob Rende and Norm Heldwein with a score of 117. And third place went to Chuck Timpe and Syd Stembridge with a score of 120.  It should be noted that this is the last event Mike McCarthy will play in as a member as he and his family are moving to Chicago. Mike, we will certainly miss you and again we all thank you for your efforts as a Board Member and Player including three time Club Champion.  Surely someone will invite Mike back next year as their partner for the Fugawi.  We would like to extend our gratitude to all who participated with a special thanks to Shane, Kyle, and the entire “crew” at Chevy Chase.  Also the Lingua Family for their donations in the Tipi and the Shonka/System and Methods group for the invites.  Also we should all thank Dr. Lee and his family for their continuing efforts at our club and for their help with this event! ...

Tournament Play
Now is the time to begin thinking about the next tournament-The Stableford.  Find a partner now and be ready for the July 14th event.  Starting time is 8:00am Shotgun using a point system for scoring. Sign up in the Pro Shop now. For those who missed the Fugawi, this is your opportunity to again earn points toward the Chevy Cup in January.

The City
The next meeting at Glendale City Council will be held on July 17th and again we need your support – Please Attend!!  Things have been moving in a positive direction and hopefully a decision will be made on the 17th.  We thank all of you who have attended the Council meetings as well as the two meetings held here at the clubhouse.  Also, we thank the surrounding homeowners for their efforts and support.

And the Winner is?
At the last couple’s tournament, Wayne and Sheree Butts were the winners in a close battle with the Talberts. The next couple tournament is Sunday, July 15th at 12:30 if you need a partner, just sign up and we will find you one. Remember that we use a Kallaway scoring system so anybody can win.

Chevy Chase is the Best!!!  Continue your support!!!
