Tournament
Congratulations to Chris Campbell and Ted Kalmon, winners of the recent Stableford tournament. Apologies are extended to all who participated as we did not follow the established shamble format, but rather a partners best ball format. In the future we will not deviate from the listed format and are hopeful everyone will accept our apology. Forty plus players still enjoyed the competition of team play in the annual Stableford and earned points for the Chevy Cup. Ted and Chris recorded an outstanding 47 points for the win with James Italia and Dom Lingua pushing hard with 43 points. Everyone should note the date of our next tournament, bet the Pro so get a partner now. The date will be Saturday, August 18 with a shotgun start at 8:00AM. The Sign-up sheet and format are listed on the board in the pro-shop. We would really like to see a large signup for this event as we are beyond the ½- way point in tournament play for the 2007 year.

Chevy Cup Points
James Italia, our tournament chairman, has taken over the point calculations for Chevy Cup points following the departure of Mike McCarthy. James has recently received the needed information from Mike and will have the current totals posted as you receive this newsletter. Remember, the top 24 members, in points earned, will play in the two-day Chevy Cup during the early part of January. Don’t miss this opportunity for a super two-day event including tournament play, along with dinner and other “awards”.

Check your calendar
The postponed 4-ball tournament will begin in October with competitions dates determined by all four players during each round. Again, this is an elimination tournament to be played over 4-5 days. A calendar will be established and posted in the pro-shop and a date for the social meeting and team buys will also be noted. This tournament was originally postponed in May, due to a small signup, and hopefully with the new dates of play, many more players will be able to participate.

Summer Play
The course is playing well, even with the dry conditions. Thanks to Kyle and his staff as they have kept things in good shape. We are fortunate to have this course available to us and to have the excellent staff providing us a great opportunity for Golf and Social Activities. Support the Friday night dinners and other club programs – we do make a difference!!!

Couples Play
Tim Milbrodt and his guest, were the recent winners of the Couples tournament. Even with a small field, everyone had a good time. The next tournament is scheduled for August 19th at 12:30pm. We would like to see several people participate, and yes you can bring along a guest couple.
